Purdue Student Government Social Media

I'm just a bill
that senate is approving over live stream
My freshmen year, I joined Purdue Student government as a Communications Director, later sophomore year I was appointed to be a the Executive Communications Director. As Exec I began to ran social media campaigns, and put on events. One of the biggest social media campaigns we did was getting people to follow us on snapchat, I did this sort of by spamming campus with our unanimous snapchat ghost. Within the first 4 hours we gained 500 followers and ended with around 2,000! I also implemented live stream, which gave students an alumini the chance to see a little of what we actually do. See below for details!
Growth Strategies
Like, Like, LIKE!
Using Hootsuite we tailored our channels to other campus organizations to show support and hopefully spread the work about us!
Constant Posts
Although this was hard because we only had so many events we tried to stay up to date with US Legislation as well as popular campus happenings.
When we wanted to market a current even we would try to have multiple graphics (see under PSG Graphics in the Graphics tab) to completely immerse our followers, we also tried to market a few weeks in advance as well as the week before and then days before do a hard push.
The unanimous Snapchat campaign mentioned above!
